Designer Envisions a Ferrari 458 Italia Replacement with New FT12 Concept


Automotive designers, be that professional or amateur, tend to be a restless breed of people, always thinking of the next project. It comes with the territory, of course.

After sharing his vision for a next generation Ferrari Spider model with a concept featuring a two-seat layout and a mid-mounted engine, Aldo Schurmann returns this year with a fresh design study for a Ferrari 458 replacement that he has named the F12T.

Pininfarina Sergio May be Made in a Very Limited Production Run


The Pininfarina Sergio, named after the former chairman of the company, who passed away last year, was one of the most striking concepts at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Its low-slung, windscreen-less roadster body, striking nose and overall barchetta shape bears little resemblance to the Ferrari 458 on which it's based.

Luckily, you might just get to see one of these on the road, in the not-so-distant future, as a report from Autonews Europe indicates that it may enter a very limited production run of no more than six examples.

Ferrari's F1 Drivers Alonso and Massa Have Fun in a 458 Italia


You could say that a Formula 1 driver will find it hard to have fun in a series-production road car, after being used to F1's extreme sensations. But we’re talking here about the 570HP Ferrari 458 Italia, arguably one of the best mid-engine sports cars available on the market right now.

Scuderia Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa took the car for a spin around the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona to see how it handles.
