New Volkswagen Golf GTD with 181HP Priced from £25,285 in the UK


A little over a week after VW released UK pricing for the new generation Golf GTI, the German carmaker did the same for the diesel-version of the sports hatch, the Golf GTD that is available to order now in Britain, with prices starting at £25,285 on the road (OTR).

The starting price is £310 more than the previous GTD, with VW stating it comes better equipped, while it's £560 less than the base 217hp (220PS) version of the gasoline-powered Golf GTI Mk7.

Fiat Begins Selling 500e in California for $32,500, Lease for $199 Per Month


The electric car family has welcomed a new member, the Fiat 500e, official pricing information for which has just been released for the US state of California, where it will be exclusively sold and leased. First Epic EV TORQ Delivered to Former Tesla Executive


Epic EV's TORQ Roadster is currently one of only a handful of electric vehicles on sale which genuinely appeal to keen drivers. It's partly down to its racy looks, but the main point of attraction is the performance on offer – zero to sixty in under four seconds, and a massive torque figure of 600 lb-ft or 812 Nm, which should come in handy for both the drive to the track, as well as on it. New Cadillac ELR Coupe Gets Paddle Shifters to Control Regenerative System [w/Video]


Cadillac today announced that the 2014 ELR battery-powered coupe will feature paddle shifters, but not the kind you get on a conventional car. Cadillac says the ELR’s paddle shifters have a different function than what we’re accustomed to and more specifically, they “enable the driver to temporarily regenerate energy and store it as electricity in the battery pack for later use.”

This new system is called "Regen on Demand" and will be an exclusive feature of the ELR, the brand’s first electric vehicle with extended range capability thanks to the petrol-powered 1.4-liter gasoline engine that acts as a generator.

BMW Woos Japanese Consumers with New 5-Series Exclusive Sport Edition


The marketing division of BMW Japan is looking for select buyers, 300 of them, to be precise, for a new special edition version of its 5-Series sedan and Touring (station wagon) models dubbed "Exclusive Sport", which are offered with a choice of two four-cylinder engines, a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol for the 523i and a 2.0-liter force-fed diesel for the 523d. Consumer Reports Not Really Thrilled About New Mitsubishi Outlander


The Mitsubishi Outlander has never been the kind of car one buys because of burning desire, but it was always competent and one of the better vehicles to drive in its class. Ford Confirms 1.5L EcoBoost for 2014 Fusion and Mondeo, but it's a 4- and Not a 3-Cylinder Unit


Ford just announced that it will launch a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine which will power the 2014 Fusion in the U.S., among other models. Watch Chevrolet Manager Point Out What's New in the 2014 Camaro SS


Recently introduced at the 2013 New York International Auto Show, the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS has been given a walk-around-style presentation by the carmaker’s marketing manager for performance cars, John Fitzpatrick.

What we find out from this video is that Chevrolet wanted to differentiate the V8 from V6 models with the restyled Camaro, so the SS received some styling tweaks inspired from the ZL1, including the hood extractor and the lower grille.

Bugatti Veyron GS Vitesse Sets New Open-Top Speed Record at 409KM/H (254MPH)


Following the 2010 world speed record achieved by the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport (431,072 km/h/267.8 mph), Bugatti has set a new benchmark, this time with the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse.

Driven by Chinese racing driver Anthony Liu, the convertible Veyron reached a speed of 408.84 km/h (254 mph), enough for the German organization for Technical Inspection and Certification (TÜV) to certify it as the world’s fastest open-top production sports car.

Ford Begins Production of the Latest Explorer SUV in Russia


The first Explorer rolled off the assembly line today at Ford's Sollers Elabuga Assembly Plant in the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia, marking the first time in the nameplate's 23-year long history that the full-size SUV is fully produced outside of the United States. Citroen Unveils DS Wild Rubis Concept, Says Hints at Future Luxury SUV [60 Photos & Videos]


In yet another display of the increasing importance of the Chinese market, Citroen will be revealing a new concept car named the "Wild Rubis" that hints at a future SUV for its upmarket DS sub-brand at next week's Shanghai Motor Show.

This is the third time in recent years that Citroen has chosen a Chinese auto show for the world premiere of a DS concept car, the two previous models being the shooting-brake-style Numero 9 at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show and the DS9 sports saloon at the Shanghai Auto Show in 2010.

Seat Drops 60 Fresh Photos of the All-New Leon Sport Coupe


Following the Geneva debut of its three-door Leon SC model, Seat has released 60 new high-resolution photos and in-depth details of its compact model.

The Leon SC compensates for the 35-mm (1.38 in) shorter wheelbase compared to its five-door sibling with a sportier profile. It is the first time that Seat has offered a three-door version of the Leon, with the five-door model giving up on the hidden rear door handles as a consequence.
